Momos need a dipping sauce that can keep up with them — something bold, a little tangy, and
spicy enough to cut through the richness of the filling. This 5-minute sauce uses Zing Sauce as
the base, and it works just as well with fried momos as steamed ones.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 0 minutes (no-cook)
Servings: 4 (makes about ½ cup)
INGREDIENTS
- 3 tbsp Zing Sauce
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
- 1 tbsp chopped green onion (for garnish)
INSTRUCTIONS
1. In a small bowl, combine Zing Sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and sugar.
2. Add minced garlic and whisk until the sugar dissolves.
3. Let sit for 5 minutes so the flavors meld together.
4. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onion.
5. Serve alongside steamed or fried momos for dipping.
CHEF'S NOTES
Adjust the Zing Sauce quantity to control the heat level — start with 2 tbsp if you want it milder. This sauce also works great as a dip for spring rolls or dumplings beyond momos. Double the batch and store in the fridge for up to a week.
